The autograph
session was a hive of activity that gave everyone an opportunity to say "hello"
to their favourite musicians. Stan Goldstein helped to keep the traffic flowing for us and
to make sure no-one got uncomfortable waiting in line, we had a bunch of additional things
going on including: the showing of rare Jukes-related video footage Sam Missimer
and Debi Rubel get full credit for making this happen as they literally donated the use of
their AV equipment at a moments notice
We had the exclusive range of Southside Johnny merchandise for sale normally this
is only available through Southside
Johnny's official Website store but John Burlaga from Rock Dreams sent a road crew along
especially for the occasion.
We had exclusive Asbury Park related merchandise for sale courtesy of Kate Mellina and
Dave Christopher from Cleopatra
Steps Out; we sold raffle tickets and raised just over $1400 in three hours for WHY
and "Save Tillie"; Bob Crane and Carl Beams from "Save Tillie" were on
hand to answer questions about the campaign.
Bob also introduced the premier screening of the promotional video that has been made to
highlight the importance of preserving Asbury Parks historic buildings; Mike
Saunders brought along a limited number of his meticulously chronicled Jukes Family Tree
in poster format; we also enlisted the services of John Cavanaugh to take optional
professional pictures during the autograph session.
