Talk Town
are without a doubt one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from the legendary New
Jersey music scene and in a recent interview that appeared prominently in the
Aquarian/East Coast Rocker, Jarrett said his dream was to open up for Bon Jovi.
Jarrett moved to New Jersey from Indiana in May 1995 with a view to enriching his musical
knowledge as well as his playing ability, together with the deep history thats
embedded within New Jerseys musical past.
Accompanying Jarrett in Talk Town is a resonant force to be reckoned with namely: Stephen
Ross (lead guitar and vocals), Timmie Perry (drums), and Steve "Muddy" Shews
(bass). Individually, these guys are all highly accomplished musicians so, whaddayaget
when you put em altogether? A totally dynamic sound, thats what!
Its been a long time since a band as exciting and inspirational as Talk Town has
emerged from the legendary New Jersey music scene and notably, a band whose original music
is so outstanding. Similar in genre to the likes of Matchbox 20, Talk Towns songs
are extremely well written and present a refreshing opportunity for the listener to enjoy
a collection of inimitable material that is conspicuous by its high quality lyrics as well
as its musical content.
From Hoboken to Hightstown and from Red Bank to Point Pleasant Beach, Talk Towns
hectic playing schedule stands testament to the bands increasing popularity amongst
New Jerseys music loving audiences. The bands high-energy, live performances
have been consistently attracting large crowds much to everyones delight, especially
their loyal supporters.
In response to their fans pleas, Talk Town has released a brand new sampler CD
comprising the most requested original material - Rainin In LA; Claustrophobic;
Hip Tragedy; Drama Queen; Feel Alive; and Movie Moment (When U & I Kiss) High.
Each track has its own melodic identity and features catchy, upbeat chorus lines,
incredible bass riffs as well as haunting guitar solos. All of those ingredients and much,
much more, ensure that a high degree of listening interest is maintained from start to
finish. Without exception, every song on this CD is guaranteed to stimulate your audio
senses leaving you hankering to hear more.
At time of writing, Talk Town remain unsigned but hopefully the release of this six-track
CD will give them further national/international recognition in addition to the recording
success they so rightly deserve. Although the songs only represent a very tiny example of
Talk Towns musical capabilities, they should nevertheless, whet your appetite for
the shape of things to come.
