Save Tillie Visits JUKESTOCK - copied with permission.

It was billed as "3 days of Peace, Love and Jukes" as Southside Johnny fans took over the Holiday Inn at Tinton Falls, N.J. March 2-4, 2001 for a weekend of high energy rock 'n' roll, autograph sessions with Southside and the Asbury Jukes, and a great deal of fun. At the invitation of Debbie May, Jane McCreery and Maggie Powell - JUKESTOCK's dynamic and expert trio of organizers - Save Tillie premiered "Rebuilding The Glory," the Palace preservation campaign's video, as part of the Saturday afternoon programme a large crowd heard Bob Crane, Save Tillie president, compare Asbury Park's economic potential to that of Liverpool, England following the excavation and reopening of the famed Cavern Club.

After the premier, lots of people visited the Save Tillie table, signing up, buying pins and tee-shirts, and encouraging us to show the video, produced by Mike ("Greetings From the Parking Lot") Sodano as frequently as possible in Asbury Park. The response was great. JUKESTOCK participants significantly contributed to Save Tillie in another way. Half the money raised by the festival raffle was donated to Save Tillie (and when one of the prizes was a chance to introduce Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at their Saturday night concert, you know that the raffle tickets were bought at a frantic pace.)
