Subject: JUKESTOCK

Well a week ago (is it really a week already :-) I was packing up the car and getting ready to cruise down the GS Parkway to Tinton Falls NJ and JUKESTOCK. Having heard about other artist fan weekends before and reading about all the fun people have at these things I was looking forward to a great weekend. Well it was better than Great!!!!!!!!!!

I could use a hundred adjectives here but you all get the picture, AWESOME simply AWESOME! Debbie, Maggie and Jane, you are the BEST!!! Thanks again, a hundred fold. I really don't know how you all looked so cool with all that you had to think and worry about all weekend but you all made it look like a piece of cake.... As I said before I hope you had your share of fun too for you surely deserve it!

As so many of you before me gave such wonderful rundowns of the weekend. I won't try to compete with them. I will just say that JUKESTOCK filled all my expectations and MORE! We not only had a weekend of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes music we had a weekend WITH Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes!!!! Most of the other weekends I have heard about maybe just maybe the artist would show up and do a quick set and be gone.

We had SSJ and the Jukes and their music all weekend, set after set after set and we even got to hang with the band when we saw them milling around the hotel or before or after their sets. Not to mention the autograph/picture session! Some of which was a blur due to my overwhelming excitement of meeting Southside and the Jukes. I hope for another chance so that I could ask a few more coherent questions.

It was wonderful!!!! The music was more than I could have hoped for. These guys and their bands continue to add to the proud legacy of the NJ Rock and Roll scene.

I finally got to meet so many of what I shall call the Southside/Jukes "family". It was a warm and wonderful feeling to feel a part of the "brotherhood" even for just a little while. I got to meet some of my "tree branches" who have helped to share the music with me. I met many of you who up until now were only a name on an Email message and some new faces as well. What a great "family" we have here. A friendly group for sure. My only regret is that there wasn't enough time to find all of the people I had on my "to meet list". Well that will be for the next time or the next show down the line. ........ I will finish with the immortal words of Bruce...... "we're all riders on this train....." so let's keep the train rolling.......
