Subject: Was it a dream?

I can't quite get over the feeling that this past weekend, JUKESTOCK, was a dream. Waking up to reality was a bit much for me to handle after such an unbelievable experience! As a long-time fan but a newcomer to the Digest, I feel as if I have a new lease on life. To everyone who attended, performed, planned, worked at or in any other way contributed to the positive vibes/fun atmosphere of JUKESTOCK, Thank You!

It's not often one gets to attend a party of this caliber with 300 friends. It was a blast hearing all of the great live music -- from soul to rock and roll -- that make up the influences of the Jukes music. All of the bands gave it their all and as a fan, I was soaking it all up -

I couldn't get enough of it. The smiles on everyone's face Saturday night said it all. By the time me and my new-found mates made it back to the bar, ears buzzing, we were floating sky-high! Thanks to the hotel for the greatest hits on the jukebox. We all sang along with the jukebox and patted "Southside Neil" on the back for his performance with the Jukes.

By the time Sunday rolled around, with the pending storm, there was a much smaller crowd there for LaBamba and the Hubcaps. Another great performance and I didn't want it to end. Thanks to Muddy and Jarrett for being flexible and setting up in the bar of the hotel after the Pony canceled. You guys were great and I look forward to hearing the entire band next time. By the way, the Talk Town CD is really good -- you were right, Maggie!

Going back home to Annapolis, Maryland via Amtrak was anticlimactic, to say the least. Lots of stranded travelers who didn't seem very happy. I'm sure they were wondering why I was smiling amidst canceled trains and hefty delays. I can't stop talking about my experience at JUKESTOCK, though, so, thanks for listening. I would be happy to contribute to a memento booklet. Hope to see familiar faces at the Ram's Head, in Annapolis. Any questions about the venue or the town of Annapolis, let me know.

Here's to the Jukes,
Paul
