(I
was just like an excited little kid, peeking behind the speakers and seeing Southside
sitting back there. Waiting for him to come on) All the bands were great! And so many
horns!!! Here in Pittsburgh you may see a band with a saxophone, but never a trumpet or
trombone. And you never see a band with the organ/piano out front like Jeff Kazee and
Prof. Crewcut.
It was great to meet Stan & Kim (he kept busting our chops about the Steelers). We
partied with both Danni girls. The Cleveland girls were a blast. I'm so glad we put our
Cleveland-Pittsburgh rivalry aside. (we're making plans for Youngstown.) It was good to
see my old coworker Bob and his wife Jeanie -I have to go to Jersey to see them. Markus
and Sylvia are two of my favorites. I think I scared him when he stepped into the elevator
and I yelled MARKUS!
Debbie and Maggie you guys did and excellent job in organizing the event. I hope you had
time to have fun. Jane, you my friend, are my friend. I can't believe that we saw each
other for so long at the public radio station that we worked together, and didn't realize
that we both had a Southside "problem". Thank you so much for everything. I
don't think the event could have been planned any better.
Pat, I'm glad you made the trip with me. You are one of my best friends. Thanks for
driving - now put down the Nintendo. My favorite part of JUKESTOCK was when Southside
said, " I want to thank everyone for coming. Now get out!" I wish he would have
played "Because it Hurts". I think that song is great and that him and Bobby
would blow it away. Who knew that that I would win the jean jacket? And it fits! I'm also
the guy who slipped Bobby the note requesting "Smoke Two Joints" by Norm
Nardini.
I hardly post to the digest. So enough outta me. Please keep in touch. I'm on the planning
committee for he Pittsburgh Blues Festival and I'm working on getting Johnny and the Jukes
there. If it happens, plan a road trip to Pittsburgh!
Peace,
Tony P.
PS: Does anyone know where I can get
"At Least We Got Shoes" on CD? ;-) |
